2 “But you, Bethlehem(A) Ephrathah,(B) though you are small among the clans[a] of Judah,out of you will come for me one who will be ruler(C) over Israel,whose origins are from of old,(D) from ancient times.”(E)
5 “In Bethlehem(A) in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:
6 “‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.’[a]”(A)
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem(A) the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.
